Copper, lead and tin – an extraordinary Late Bronze Age string of beads from Borger. Around 2017, amateur metal detectorist searching at Borger in the immediate vicinity base a Middle barrow, which had been excavated 1987, came across 245 beads: four large 241 small ones. One is made lead, two are lead/tin alloy one copper; biconical cylindrical all copper. XRF analysis showed that copper type known as Fahlerz or Fahlore (which includes Singen Ösenring types copper). was used mostly Early Age, but also into Age. The intensification use Western Europe between 1000 500 BC makes it likely buried possibly isolated deposit no later than 8th century BC. Further research planned near future, viz. lead-isotope small-scale field investigation.
